Superjoint released a new track, called Ruin You, that will feature on their upcoming album Caught Up in the Gears of Application, which will be out on November 11, 2016.
The song and album was produced by Philip H. Anselmo and Stephen Berrigan, and mastered by Scott Hull, through Anselmo’s Housecore Records. With this style of beats created by the song through heavy drums and electric guitar, the band continues their theme of crossing over between punk hardcore, metal and a New Orleans style. The song can be listened to below.
According to Loudwire, the band’s frontman had stated that “this song is an example of how a basic, rock-driven song can still be a powerful thing, in musical standards and lyrical content as well.” He had also added his thoughts on the record by adding “The overall theme means many things, or no things, but there is an underlying message regardless, about how modern technology — computers and all that comes with them, mainly — has affected our lives. As a musician, it has affected my life both negatively (music being stolen) and positively (being in touch with fellow musicians around the world and staying visible)”.
The band has also released the song Sociopathic Herd Delusion from this upcoming album.
