Avenged Sevenfold have had no shortage of press lately. In recent weeks, holograms of Avenged Sevenfold’s deathbat logo mysteriously appeared in locations such as Paris and Sweden, prompting curiosity and anticipation for what the band was planning. Now it appears the answer to the question is here. Avenged Sevenfold are back with new music, for the first time in several years.
A new video was released today for “The Stage,” Avenged Sevenfold’s first sample of fresh music. The track is from the band’s speculated upcoming album, the details of which have yet to be announced. Although, after deleted tweet from Chris Jericho, fans believe the album will be titled Voltaic Oceans. More details for the album are likely to be announced during an event on Oct. 27.
In January, the band cut ties with their Warner Bros. label. The new album will be produced by Capitol Records.
The music video depicts violent scenes throughout history, in the comforting, simplistic medium of a marionette puppet show. Check it our for yourself below.
