Amanda Palmer announced the release of a new full-length album titled Theatre Is Evil, naturally featuring re-worked versions of the 13 songs from her 2012 album Theatre Is Evil. The songs will be rerecorded on solo piano. The singer explains that she wrote the songs on Theatre Is Evil on the piano, always wanting to hear them in their rawest form. The critically-acclaimed source material was also notable for the Kickstarter campaign that funded it.

According to a press release from Palmer, the album will be printed as a tour CD and Patreon members will have digital files emailed to them. After the tour wraps up, she plans to make it available online for “free/cheap”. She states that she “holed up” for six days in a row to record these new songs in a way she always intended to, declaring it an artistic treat. Expect a much different sound than what was heard in the now four-year-old Theatre Is Evil

Palmer is almost always creating, with multiple projects announced, completed and released this year alone. She released a David Bowie covers album with Jherek Bischoff and released an album with her father and toured behind it. Most recently, Palmer released new song with Brendan Maclean called “On the Door.”

Palmer also has several North America live dates coming up in November, scattered across the United States and Canada. Opening up 2017 are several dates in Australia.
