LISTEN: Teen Suicide Release New Song “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” and Announces New EP Bonus for November 2016 Release

Indie/DIY band Teen Suicide has released a new single, “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”, which is set to feature on their upcoming Bonus EP. The group released their debut LP, It’s The Joyous Big Celebration in April.

“Smoke Get In Your Eyes” samples The Platters 1958 cover of the famed show of the same name. Most tellingly, “Smoke Get In Your Eyes” is also the title of Mad Men’s first episode. Teen Suicide coat the track’s airy synths in hazy, broken vocals, which are complemented by shuffling drums. They embrace a larger sound than on previous records, pushing further from bedroom punk and into atmospheric pop. The added studio elements work well, and the track is surprisingly cohesive.

Teen Suicide are currently planning to change their “juvenile and problematic” According to a press release, the latest name supposedly under consideration is “King Salmon: Fish God.”
