In an interview on BBC Radio 4 on Wednesday, Brian Wilson announced that he is working on new album. Wilson clarified that the record will mostly feature rock and roll classics with perhaps some original material, saying “I can write rock n’ roll.” He didn’t go into detail about which rock songs he would cover, and no firm release date is set. Wilson told BBC that it would be out “maybe by the end of the year.”

Wilson is currently going around the world in a Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary World Tour where he is playing the Beach Boys’ seminal record in its entirety. Wilson’s last studio album No Pier Pressure was released in 2015 and his latest release was Brian Wilson and Friends, live album of a show from 2014. Wilson’s memoir I Am Brian Wilson comes out October 11th.

Christopher Lee: I am a college student from California. I am a massive fan of most things rock, and especially of all things Car Seat Headrest. Journalism has been a great passion of mine, and I hope that I'll be able to continue to merge my worlds of music and journalism as the years go on.
