Tycho, a electronic trio from California, has released their new album called Epoch. This album is known to be the last of the trilogy with their previous albums, Dive, which was released in 2011, and Awake, which was released in 2014.
Each song within this album has a different style that still adds to the overall atmosphere of the trilogy. The last song in the album, “Field”, has a breezy tune, while songs like Rings, the ninth song on the album, has a more energetic mood to it.
The album, made in Scott Hansen’s home studio in Berkeley, California, will continue light tone that the previous albums had brought. According to Brooklyn Vegan, he says “I’ve never been fond of handing in an album then waiting four months for it to be released. I wanted to be more connected to the people consuming the music. There is a kind of visceral fulfillment you get from sharing something that you’ve just created with other people. That’s a very satisfying feeling as an artist.”
The album will be available for purchase, through Ghostly in January. The album is also currently available on Spotify. The tracklist for the album is available below.
The band has released two songs out of the album separately, over the last three months. These songs are “Epoch” and “Division“.
