Famous and holding of a certain type of longevity and with former band The Smiths, the now touring again Morrissey has recently made headlines. The Ramones, lucrative and well known in their own right, were a subject of negativity in the past for Morrissey. However, it seems that he has altered his opinion with a recent live cover of The Ramones’s “Judy is a Punk.”
In his own concert, Morrissey decided to bring out his own rendition of the Ramones tune, and he did so in a true to form punk-ish fashion. A talented performer, which can be seen in his recent concert at King’s Theater, Morrissey channeled the classic band’s nature. With repetitive guitars and constant snare drum rhythm, Morrissey embodied the punk tradition and his smooth vocals gave off a suitable Ramones esque vibe. In truth, as he sang he noticeably enjoyed the song of a band he once was critical off. Halfway through the number, he began to clap in time with the music and keep his vocals in track with his rendition of “Judy Is A Punk.” Watch the performance below…
