Starting his hip hop career in the Diplomats, Jim Jones has been a force to be reckoned with ever since. Outside of his own music career, he is a co-CEO at Diplomat Records, has directed music videos, and had stints in the sports, entertainment, and fashion industries. It’s safe to say he’s a bit well-rounded.
An essential part of Jim Jones’ music is his upbringing in Harlem, which is reflected in all of his records. His first few solo albums didn’t reach commercial success, but as he continued to release music, people started to take notice. These days it seems as though everyone knows about the feud that went on within the Diplomats, but Jim Jones has actually taken to working with his former group in recent years.
One of the most productive members of the hip hop movement, Jim Jones always shows us that he’s one step ahead. It’s super exciting to get the chance to see him live after countless years, especially when it seems he is having a great time making his new music.
