Pretenders Announce New Album Alone Featuring Production by Dan Auerbach For October 2016 Release

English-American rock band Pretenders have just announced their new album Alone, which is their first since 2008’s Break Up The Concrete.  The album is due out on October 21st via BMG. It is available now for pre-order. They are also set to begin a 27 city tour with Stevie Nicks on October 25 in Phoenix.

The Pretenders are back with the band’s first new album in eight years, this time collaborating with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach as producer.

Singer Chrissie Hynde is the only original member of The Pretenders on the new album. She’s joined by producer and drummer Richard Swift and keyboardist Leon Michels, both members of Auerbach’s side project The Arcs. Bassist Dave Roe, guitarist Russ Pahl, and guitarist Kenny Vaughan will also be featured on the record.

Hynde originally started Alone as a successor to her 2014 album Stockholm. However, after she started producing several songs with Auerbach it soon became apparent that it would be a Pretenders LP.
