WATCH: Jack White Releases New Video For White Stripes’ “City Lights”

The White Stripes have just dropped their surprise song “City Lights” along with the accompanying video. The video was directed by Michel Gondry and is his fifth collaboration with the group. Watch the video below.

Originally, “City Lights” was written for 2005’s Get Behind Me Satan. The track was forgotten until White revisited the album in 2015 for the vinyl reissue. He finished the song earlier this year. This is the band’s first new, worldwide commercially released tune since 2008.

This past Friday White appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to perform some tracks from his newly released album. Just last week, White released his album of acoustic recordings titled Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016. The album is the ultimate Jack White songwriting collection. It contains 26 tracks including mixes, alternate versions and unreleased recordings.

In addition to the acoustic album, White released his new track “Carolina Drama“. The artist also launched an interactive timeline detailing his career. Read more about the project here.
