Swedish rock band Ghost released their brand new song “Square Hammer” from their upcoming EP titled Popestar which is set to drop Sept. 16. The song effortlessly pulls off high pitch vocals on top of the low guitar riffs strumming in the background.
“We’re very proud of it,”the mysteriously masked band member said. “We’re obviously thrilled to be able to play something new. This is a short, to-the-point little gem right at the jugular.”
The song begins as:
Living in the night
‘Neath devils torn asunder
You call on me to solve a crooked rhyme
As I’m closing in
Imposing on your slumber
You call on me as bells begin to chime
Are you on the square?
Are you on the level?
Are you ready to swear right here, right now
Before the devil
That you’re on the square
That you’re on the level
That you’re ready to stand right here, right now
Right here, right now

“Square Hammer” will be featured on the upcoming EP, which a band member claimed is “Not a new album; it’s gonna be like an extension of ‘Meliora‘” which was their most recent studio album, from 2015.
