Nick and The Bad Seeds has recently released the song “I Need You”, from their new album Skeleton Tree, and its music video, which acts like a clip for the band’s black and white film called One More Time With Feelings. This documentary talks about how Nick, his wife and the band has handled the death of his son.
Directed by Andrew Dominik, the music video consists of the band playing the song from different angles with the main focus on Nick Cave. The music video for the song is below.
The song brings heartbreak to the audience with the soft slow tunes played by the drums and guitar. In addition to this, while the singer sings the lyrics “Nothing really matters when the one you love is gone … I need you,” the audience can hear the crack in his voice that makes him sound like he’s on the verge of tears. Through out the song, the singer repeats “nothing really matters” to show how heartbroken he is with the situations he has dealt with.
