Marissa Nadler has shared her new single “The Best You Ever Had” as a delightful preview to the release of her new album Bury Your Name. Originally adapted to be distributed in cassette tape format as part of a strictly limited deluxe version of Strangers. The latest album is a collection of 8 tracks that were written during the time of her LP Strangers. It was an exclusive compilation of songs that were recorded as a “companion piece” from the Boston native’s home.
The debut single is full of sorrow, melodically recounting the anguish of lost love. Nadler’s ghostly vocals against the deep strumming of strings truly linger and allow you to attach yourself to the artist’s poetic verses. The latest EP can be likened to ominous dream noise complemented by gothic rock notes.
Marissa states after 10 years, this album will be the first time in a lengthy while where she’ll perform with a full band, rather than performing solo. She has been entrancing fans with her abstract indie sound and is excited to do so onstage for her tour. Nadler will also be taking lead on guitar, a rebirth in her music that will showcase the artist’s more expansive style. An obstacle she has been trying to break through for quite some time that will allow her to be challenged.
