The artist Sims is best known for his work apart of the Minneapolis rap team Doomtree.  Now he is making his way just fine after leaving the group.  His new track “One Hundred” off of his upcoming album More Than Ever definitely has the feel of Doomtree with his own flare. His rapping over producer Lazerbeak’s beat and samples brings the free fun vibes.  Sims explains that this light-hearted song is about feeling pushed down by people trying to tell you have to act and “a declarative ‘f*ck it’.”  The track is about being happy and accepting yourself by not worrying about what others say.

This November 4th from Doomtree Records themselves, the album More Than Ever was written after a rough winter for the rapper.  It wasn’t until after experience the death or sickness of many of friends and family that were close to him that “the only acceptable answer to big loss is big joy.”  The album was formulated over 13 tracks with the help of producers Lazerbeak, Paper Tiger, and ICETEP.
