Sia is back at it again by teaming up with the notorious hip hop artist Kendrick Lamar for her new single “The Greatest.” The video of course features the pop star’s video muse again Maddie Ziegler along with a clan of children. The featured video does not have Lamar’s verse, but the version with him on the track can be streamed via Spotify. The track with Lamar is entrapping from such an unusual dou. His verse gives his electric hip hop vibe to the single proving that any beat is just the foundation of a song that can blossom into different ventures.
The video is directed by Sia and Daniel Askill. The shots begin with Ziegler distraught and a crowd of children rapped in a cage waiting to be freed. Once the song reaches the climax, Ziegler frees the children and leads them dancing throughout the house. After wild and intricate dances through the house, the video comes to a sudden halt as the kids wear out and wake up back behind the cage doors.
“The Greatest” track is Sia’s first new single since releasing her This Is Acting back in January of this year. The acclaimed singer is scheduled to hit the road for the album this fall which would be her first full set tour in five years. The US and Canada tour begins September 29th in Seattle and will continue through 22 cities.
