428 People Are Arrested at Nocturnal Wonderland Music Festival

This weekend the police of San Bernardino County were on the prowl at the three day rave Nocturnal Wonderland over the labor day weekend. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reports 428 people were arrested between Friday and Sunday either at or near the event. This is a much higher elevated number of arrests than last years event and you may be wondering why. Deputies were actually invited to the event by the promoter Insomniac Events themselves. Additional law enforcement officers were paid by Insomniac and were assigned the patrol the Devore and Rosena Ranch area. This comes after some turmoil over San Bernardino County threatening to ban raves from the county all together. Most of these arrests were based on suspicion of drug possession, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, assault, resisting arrest, trespassing, being younger than 18, and indecent exposure.

Some good news from the event is that there were no reported deaths from the scene that has been plagued by drug overdoses in Southern California and Las Vegas. Much of this turmoil is as a result from earlier this August when three fans died after they attended Hard Summer near Fontana. Although these cases were not tied to drugs, they are still under investigation. These tragic events sparked San Bernardino County supervisor to propose another look at banning events at the San Manuel Amphitheater. Obviously the ban did not happen and Nocturnal Wonderland went on as planned as the “21st anniversary of North America’s longest running dance music festival.” Authorities said that 67, 195 attendees were there over the three days in which the biggest attendance day was Saturday with 25,762 attendees. More good news include that the original movement to ban raves from the amphitheater were noise complaints that were unfounded in which measurements were taken by the sheriff’s department and noise was found to be within acceptable limits.

Nocturnal Wonderland is known for transforming the San Manuel Amphitheater and Grounds into a “vibrant world of imaginative sights and sounds.” The event is centered around the good vibes of electronic dance music that has been flooding the music scene. Some of the Headlining acts include Chromeo, 3LAU, Audien, Above & Beyond, Laidback Luke, Valentino Khan, DJ Snake, and many more.
