An established band, The Pixies have had success within the music industry. In fact, the versatile band has a new album titled Head Carrier coming out September 30th. However, band member, Black Francis, has also had his own success outside of the band. Black Francis has released several solo act albums since the early ’90s and his music has not gone under the radar. Nonetheless, in lue of two recent albums in 2010 and 2011, the skilled member has now stated that he does not plan to release another solo album and the future and is by far content with his famed band, The Pixies.

When asked what happened and why in response to his solo works and his decision to not do anymore, Black Francis is sound in saying that he fundamentally just does not feel a need, want, or desire to. “A lot of work,” a lot of effort, and divided time are given reasons for this. Black Francis implies in recent interviews that the expository of energy and lack there of are primary in deciding to hang up the proverbial solo act hat. With the tiresome schedule and creativity demand of tour and solo album work, the subject of anything new just doesn’t seem right, he has said. He views that, the Pixies being as successful as they are, his current band doesn’t deserve his divided attention and if he has felt a need to expand his artistic notion elsewhere then why not somewhere other than music. In truth, he asserts that painting is a talent and outlet of his. In order to dispel a drive to create, Black Francis denotes that this could and should be his new form of anything solo from here on forth.

The music career of The Pixies has been well established, and in terms of a career moving forward there is no better way to look ahead for Black Francis. This notion holds especially true when it is known that a new album is being released by the end of the month.
