Ryan Adams Announces New Album For November 2016 Release

After his successful 1989 album, Ryan Adams will be released a new album this November.  This will be his first collection of original songs since his 2014 self titled effort.  He has written more than 80 songs for the project then dwindled it down to 11 songs for the album.

What was Adams inspiration for this album?  He tunneled his vision for the album by listening to 80’s music while running in LA.  When he would run, AC/DC records would be playing on his iPod Nano or he would listen to the best of songs from the 80’s: Springsteen or Hornsby.  It wasn’t until he listened to AC/DC’s “Fly On The Wall” when he realized that this is what he must do for the album.

Other influences for the album include guitar tones from Bachman-Turner Overdrive and ELO.  The as yet untitled project was produced by rock veteran Don Was, who Adams refers to as “Gandalf.”  Adams biggest challenge is trying to tell this story in just 11 songs , which would be to tell 11 songs of his life so far.  The highly anticipated album will be released on November 4 most likely on Pax-Am.
