Enter Shikari Announces New Album Live At Alexandra Palace For November 2016 Release

Enter Shikari just announced plans to release live album Live At Alexandra Palace on November 4 via Ambush Reality / Play It Again Sam. The record serves as a sixth installment of the band’s “Bootleg” series of live albums.

The album was recorded in a sold-out show held in February earlier this year, in front of 9000 people in London. The record has been edited by guitarist Rory Clewlow and live engineer Tim Morris who served as a production assistant for A Flash Flood of Colour and The Mindsweep.

Out on a 2CD form and splatter-coloured double vinyl as well as digital download, the album features all 17 songs from the show, apart from ‘Juggernauts’, which failed to record thanks to a technical hitch. A statement admitted the concert should have been available on DVD too, but that hitch meant only one song – “Redshift” – successfully managed to be filmed without issues.

Frontman Rou Reynolds said of the video: “After such a spectacle, we decided to cobble together and edit the footage from the jumbotrons on the night. Unfortunately, a lot of the crowd footage was warped and unusable, but we were only able to put together one great track rather than a whole show, but we hope this’ll give you an idea of the energy on that night. Being such a DIY tour – programming the video screen content and 4.1 surround sound mix ourselves, for example – it seems only right and proper that we apply that approach to the documentation of the show too. Victory snatched from the jaws of defeat, and all that.”

The band has been named as a special guest for Bring Me The Horizon’s show at London’s O2 Arena on October 31. It’s the first time the bands have played together on one stage since 2010 in a single Las Vegas gig and the first time in the UK since a show at Leeds in 2005, when both Enter Shikari and Bring Me The Horizon were at the start of their careers. A statement said: “The combined band members numbered more than the paying audience that night.”

Enter Shikari have European festivals plus a tour of Japan and Australia to complete before the Bring Me The Horizon show. Following those series of shows, they will concentrate on writing and recording a new album to follow 2015’s The Mindsweep.
