Metallica fans were psyched to hear about the upcoming release of the bands highly anticipated upcoming album Hardwire…To Self Destruct when the announcement was made earlier this week. Then in a surprise move on on Saturday night at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Metallica played their brand new song “Hardwire” live for the first time in front of a juiced up audience.
Lucky for those who didn’t attend the concert, there is a professional shot video of the live performance which gives fans a taste of what it would have been like to watch the epic performance unfold. The band played many of their familiar songs, before kicking off an encore with the unreleased song. In the background you can see several images of what looks like distorted faces flashing on tempo. It’s not clear if the images are of random people or of the band members themselves. Catch the video below along with a fan filmed video that isn’t as high quality, but is still worth the watch.
On Spotify you can watch a four part documentary on the legendary band, while the trailer and episode one are readily available on Youtube. The band has also released a new video for the single “Hardwire” which you can watch here.
If you want to catch your favorite band performing live, you can this November where Metallica will be headlining for the Bridge School Benefit Concert.
