Neil Young Announces 30th Anniversary Bridge School Benefit Lineup Featuring Roger Waters, My Morning Jacket and Metallica

Neil Young’s 30 annual Bridge School Benefit Concert lineup was just announced and it features artists that are nothing short of a music lovers dream. As usual, proceeds from the concert go directly to the Bridge School, which is a school for special needs children in California where they help those with severe physical and social impairments.

This year on October 22 and 23 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA you can catch headliners such as Roger Waters, My Morning Jacket, and Metallica perform unique versions of their well-known songs as they all go unplugged.

Artists are expected to perform all of their songs acoustically, which will be a big twist for bands like Metallica who are known for their hardcore rock sound. Fans will be looking forward to seeing how the band adapts to performing a much softer set.

Other musicians like Roger Waters will probably have an easier time adjusting since performing at the Newport Folk Fest last year.

My Morning Jacket made a guest appearance in Waters’ set during the folk festival, proving to audiences that they can kill it together on the big stage. We will be excited to see them perform their own sets as major headliners to this years benefit. Nils Lofgren will be be a returning headliner this year, already proving himself a great fit for the benefit stage since performing in 2015. Neil Young is also known to add in some surprise guests to the mix, making for a spectacular two days for a crazy affordable price. Catch the whole list of featured artists below.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 29 at 10:00 a.m. so make sure to snag yourself a ticket.

I was raised in the bay area, and am thrilled to be living back in California. Catch me at your local music festival, because there's nothing better than laying back in the grass and listening to your favorite bands or discovering new ones.
