Beth Hart Announces New Album Fire On The Floor For February 2017 Release

Beth Hart has announced the release for her new album Fire On The Floor set to come out through Provogue/Mascot Label Group. The album will be available in regions of Europe, Australia and New Zealand on October 4th 2016, while regions of the United States and Canada will have to wait until February 3, 2017 to hear the new set of tracks.

The difference in release date has been because of the tour dates, as she will end her tour during late September, in the U.S to work on her album, and start her tour again during the early weeks of November in Europe.

This record has been a follow up on the 2015 album, Better Than Home.  This album had gained a lot of popularity leading to accomplishments such as a spot on iTunes Blue Charts and a number four spot on Best Blues Album Of The Year by Mojo magazine. When sharing thoughts, Beth had said “We were still in the mixing stages for that album and I knew I had to make another record. Making ‘Better Than Home’ was so painful, because one of the producers, Michael Stevens, was dying of cancer. It was a very emotional record to write and to make. I wanted the songs for ‘Fire On The Floor’ to get born real quick.”

Fire On The Floor is a collection of 12 tracks with mixed genres, reflecting Beth’s teenage influences. The mix in genres in the album was a result of various exposures to these different genres during this period of life. Beth had said “As a writer, I feel really stifled if I’m trying to write in the same style. I just can’t do that. Growing up as a kid, I was raised all over the place stylistically, loving so many different genres,” to explain the different genres the songs have portrayed in this album.

To help with production, Beth had made collaborations with producer Oliver Leiber and a studio band that included Michael Landau and Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Brian Allen on bass, Rick Marotta on drums, Jim Cox on piano, Dean Parks on acoustic guitar and Ivan Neville on B3 and organ. Most of the time in production has been spent on mixing rather than recording as Beth says “We recorded sixteen songs in three days, but then we spent a long time mixing. Oliver is a brutally hard working person, but he’s also incredibly sensitive and that combination works so great. He’s strong and focused, but still so vulnerable, and his heart is wide open. I’m so proud of what he did on this record.”

As the recording sessions and mixing sessions come to an end, Beth had concluded with saying “I’m so pleased with it. I recently had to organise the sequence of the record, and while I was doing that, I was thinking to myself, ‘Y’know, this is pretty frickin’ good.’”
