Apoptygma Berzerk Announce New Album Exit Popularity Contest For October 2016 Release

Norway’s Apoptygma Berzerk, also known as APOP, has recently announced the release of a new album Exit Popularity Contest. This album will come out on October 7, 2016 through the label The Ends Record.

This album contains ten song; nine songs come from the previous EPs Stop Feeding The Beast, Videodrome, and Xenogenesis, with one bonus extended track. The EPs that are used were previously only available through vinyl, but now the band has expanded availability through CDs, cassette tapes, and digital. From this organization, the band can appeal to the old generation and new generation fans of the electronic genre. Overall, the album has the goal of representing APOP’s constant reinvention, with these returns of instrumental music and various electronic beats.

Stephan Groth, known to be the founder and vocalist of the band, pays respect to many artists such as Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, by creating similar styles of tunes and other factors put in a piece. Through experimentation, Stephan has been able to create a mix of new electronic sounds that would both please the band and the audience.
