New Brujeria Tour Poster Features Donald Trump With a Knife Slicing Into His Head

Mexican-American Los Angeles extreme metal outfit Brujeria has announced their “Make America Hate Again” tour with Cattle Decapitation. If the tour’s name is ringing a bell, perhaps the eye-catching tour flyer featuring divisive Republican presidential candidate being cut with a large knife will help connect the dots. The band is preparing to release their first full-length studio album in 15 years, Poncho Aztlan, which is also the group’s first for the seminal extremely music label Nuclear Blast. The record comes out on September 16.

Brujeria formed in 1989 as a side project of Dino Cazares of Fear Factory alongside Billy Gould of Faith No More, Jello Biafra and others, The super-group has featured musicians like Jeff Walker of Carcass, Adrian Erlandsson of At The Gates, and Shane Embury of Napalm Death. The band performs under pseudonyms and adopt alternative personas such as Güero Sin Fe (Gould), Hongo (Embury), El Cynico (Walker) and Podrido (Erlandsson). On stage, the band members are known for obscuring their faces with bandanas and baclavas.

The group has always been known for its socially and politically themes, so this striking and provocative tour poster does not come as a huge surprise for a group that has always been known for pushing buttons. The group also came into the spotlight for the gruesome album cover for “Matando Güeros,” which featured the severed head of what is presumed to be a Mexican drug dealer. The head, nicknamed “Coco Loco,” became a de facto logo for the group.

For years the band declined to tour or even perform live, with a few exceptions before their break-up at the beginning of the 00s. Now fans of the group will have the chance to catch their brutality throughout the fall.
