There’s a reason they call him Machine Gun Kelly – rapid-fire word-spitting, just like the gun. Through no fault other than completely on purpose, he has crafted a unique image that is 100% genuine. An underground rapper with some punk rock tendencies. Brought up in a couple different places – Chicago, Denver, and Cleveland – he manages to express a strong sense of self through his music even though most things in his early life weren’t very consistent.
Machine Gun Kelly doesn’t just spit words – he uses his skill to connect to the issues he had or is having in his life – lost love, the struggles of not fitting in or having a stable home, and depression. He is realer than most rappers these days, because he addresses partying but realizes that there is more to life and more for him to rap about than that.
For the chance to scream every word to “Wild Boy”, you should head over to the House of Blues on November 16th. Not only does MGK always put on a good show, he’s incredibly charming onstage and off.
