The BAFTA award winning Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds, has just released a new song and video for his song “Particles.”
In the song, he teams up with Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, the lead singer of the famous indie folk rock band Of Monsters and Men. The song is part of Arnald’s project Island Songs. This project will take Arnalds across seven different locations in his native Iceland in seven weeks.
The new song “Particles” is incredibly beautiful. It’s a perfect amalgamation of Ólafur Arnalds fantastic instrumental talent and Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir’s wildly beautiful voice.
The new single debut on Zane Lowe’s BEATS 1 Show, but has also been released as a music video. The music video simply but beautifully shows the duet performing the new song in a lighthouse in Garður. As noted in their press release, this video as well as the rest of the videos involved in this project, were directed by Baldvin Z.
