The native U.K. band Biffy Clyro releases new video “Howl” for the United States.

Biffy Clyro’s newest album Ellipsis has taken over the U.K. charts landing at the #1 spot upon its release, and has remained in the top 10 since. Biffy Clyro’s album has also had success in other markets including Germany, Ireland, and Switzerland. The U.S. will receive its first look into the popular overseas band in the new video for “Howl”, which is reportedly the band’s way of breaking into the American market.

Biffy Clyro has slowly transitioned into a new designed sound with Ellipsis, and it is paying off. Producer Rich Costey (Muse, My Chemical Romance) was brought in to assist in Biffy Clyro’s “rewiring” for the new album. According to the press release, Ellipsis “streamlines their sound into a rush of melody and a strident, stadium-conquering hook in which its uplifting atmosphere contrasts with the darker themes of vocalist/guitarist Simon Neil’s lyrics”.

The video, directed by Mark Klasfeld, is said to be inspired by The Shining and to be an ode to David Lynch, and it is quite apparent throughout the video. For example, the ghost bartender and creepy identical twins creeping throughout the video’s hotel are straight out of the infamous thriller. But, this is just the beginning to the madness as the band members start to become the unusual character that surround them. These transformations of the band members into the creepy characters bodies is super hilarious, and a highly recommended watch. Check it out below.
