American heavy metal act Red Fang has announced a series of fall tour dates. The band is touring in support of their upcoming ten song album Only Ghosts. Tickets will be available to purchase this Friday. Stoner metal band Torche will accompany Red Fang in September and October.
In the past, Red Fang has performed in the same lineup as similar bands such as Megadeth, Godsmack, Opeth, In Flames, and Disturbed. The band’s sound can be described as a combination between stoner metal and classic rock. Stoner metal, or stoner rock, is a sound that is characterized by low-fi retro production, an emphasis on bass, slow tempo, and heavy distortion on the guitars. By combining these aspects with classic rock sensibilities, Red Fang has created a fun and easily digestible heavy metal sound. The band’s music videos, such as “Prehistoric Dog” and “Wires” significantly boosted the band’s popularity due to their comical and outlandish nature.
