Last year, Beach House surprised fans by releasing two albums in one year. These two albums, Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars, were very well received by fans and critics alike.

Just recently, the band has released a new music video for “The Traveller,” a song from their aforementioned album Thank Your Lucky Stars. The music video is simple enough, but utilizes some interesting visual techniques. As The Fader reports, the music video was shot with an old camera and was then further altered to create a cool ’80s inspired video.

The video matches the song’s solemn vibe, while giving it a hint of vibrancy and nostalgia. Throughout the video we see a woman making her way through odd geometric entranceways, hallways and areas. The video is purposefully distorted to create a very visually pleasing image.

Take a look at the new video for “The Traveller” below.

Beach House was formed in 2004 in Baltimore, MD. The band consists of vocalist Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, each in charge of various instruments. The duo are well known for their ambient “dream pop” sound that has significantly influenced other lo-fi bands in recent years. So far, the band has released six studio albums, and several singles and EPs.
