Kanye West has just unexpectedly released the music video for “Wolves,” from his most recent album The Life of Pablo, which has undergone many changes before it was even released.
The black-and-white video is directed by Steven Klein and includes appearances from Vic Mensa and Sia (“Wolves” collaborators), plus Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian, Kim’s sister Kylie Jenner, Cindy Crawford, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, and many more. The video doubles as a spotlight for Balmain’s Fall 2016 line, and features West delivering the track with tears streaming down his face.
“Wolves” is the second Life of Pablo track to receive a music video following the controversial visuals for “Famous”.
The video merges the rappers favorite things. It’s about fashion; it’s about music; it’s about being in the spotlight.
“Wolves” shows Mr. and Mrs. West in glittering outfits similar to those they wore at the Met Gala this year. They are surround by beautiful models on a runway, under the moon…they are the wolves.
The seven-minute clip is essentially an extensive Balmain commercial with the fashion house’s boss and Kardashian family friend Olivier Rousteing acting as creative director, who also appears in the video.
