The San Francisco folk rock band Sun Kil Moon and experimental British band Jesu just released a new song titled “He’s Bad,” in a diss track that uses a play on words to criticize and berate the late King of Pop in regards to his strange tactics and criminal accusations. If you’re thinking the song maybe has a few jabs here and there only engaging in minimal trash talk, you’d be wrong. Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon says:
He’s bad
And he’s dead
And I’m glad He’s dead
And to me it ain’t that fucking sad
The bands don’t tip toe around Micheal Jackson’s infamous past, but flat out name some of the worst things he was publicly known for doing. Later on in the song, the band goes on to say:
But if I had a son would I let him get into a car with Michael Jackson? Fuck no
I’m sorry for the bad things that his father did to him
But it doesn’t add up to building a Willy Wonka trap for kids
And changing the color of your God-given skin
You made creepy videos that the popular kids liked back in the ’80s
And once over a balcony he dangled a baby

The song was released off of the band’s upcoming collaborative LP 30 Seconds to the Decline of Planet Earth which is set to be released June 1, 2017. This LP marks the second collaborative project the bands have worked on together, following their previous album Good Morning My Love.
While to some this diss track may come as a surprise, this isn’t the first time Mark Kozelek has gotten into a feud with a fellow musician. He is seemingly used to controversy as he has recently had beef with War on Drugs when he also made song diss about them. He additionally battled it out with City Folk Festival organizers and which resulted in them canceling the show.
