Joanna Newsom has released plans to complete a mini-tour of the southern U.S. in support of her 2015 album, Divers. Taking place in September, the shows mark her first trip down south in almost six years. The performances will follow Newsom’s appearance at England’s End of the Road Festival.
Newsom recently completed world tour over the winter and a U.S. trek later in the spring months. The singer-songwriter has been promoting her critically acclaimed 2015 release, Divers, her first full-release in 5 years.
Newsom has gained much of her publicity from live performances. With no social media presence, Newsom has been successfully using her tours as a medium for sharing new material. In 2009, the artist performed an unannounced show in Big Sur, California to debut two hours worth of new songs for fans. Her live performances on television, especially late-night appearances such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Seth Myers have brought the piano and harp player much deserved attention to her growing body of work.
