Former The Civil Wars Member John Paul White Announces New Album Beulah For August 2016 Release

John Paul White, previously of the Civil Wars, has just announced the release of his debut solo album.  The album, titled Beulah, is set for release on August 19th via Single Lock Records.  NPR recently premiered “The Martyr”, the first track to be shared from the album.  Beulah combines swampy southern rock, folk balladry, and dark acoustic pop.  White will be premiering the eclectic songs from the album July 22nd at the Troubadour in L.A.  He will also be on tour through September.  See the full list of tour dates below.

The album was produced by Alabama Shakes’ Ben Tanner and White.  It was recorded in Muscle Shoals at FAME studios as well as White’s own Single Lock Studios.  White founded and runs Single Lock Studios alongside Tanner and Will Trapp.

This will be White’s first collection of new songs since the Civil Wars split back in 2014.  The grammy winning duo, which included Joy Williams, officially parted ways after an extended hiatus between album releases.  Williams has led successful solo career in the past few years.  Just yesterday she released a new single titled “Someone to Love You (Acoustic)”.
