Cookie Monsta and Funtcase @ The Hangar 8/19

Cookie Monsta and Funtcase are bringing dubstep and drum and base to The Hangar on Friday, August 18th. Both artists music offer big, banging bass drums that make you dance. This should be a great rave for dubstep fans.

Cookie Monsta is a dubstep musician from the UK who first started making music in college in 2007. Since then he has released plenty of mixes, ep’s, and remixes for your listening pleasure. His most recent EP “Wobble” was released 3 months ago. Funtcase is also from the UK. He started making drum and bass in 2007 and then started to incorporate that sound into dubstep. He started releasing songs under the name Funtcase in 2010. He is well known for his Cyberman mask from Doctor Who which he always wears when performing. Cookie Monsta and Funtcase have been working with each other for awhile at festivals and making music compilations. Watch this video to get a glimpse at their live show.

The show will be at The Hangar in downtown, a great place for dubstep because of the way that the venue is set up. The enclosed space should keep the beats loud and the floor rumbling. Cookie Monsta and Funtcase have shown great chemistry in the past performing together and I think that should be the case here.

Henry Ehlebracht: I am an NYU student from Miami who loves writing. I am a dual major in Philosophy and Journalism and I'd love to share my thoughts on music with you. My two favorite music genres are definitely hip hop and electronic/dance, but I'm really open to anything that piques my interest. I'm currently in New York for school. Electronic album reviewer for MXDWN. Although I write about music for the website, my media interests stretch into many areas including movies and video games.
