Ben Folds Announces Fall 2016 Tour Dates

Singer-songwriter, record producer, and talented multi-instrumentalist Ben Folds has announced that he will set out on “A Piano and a Playpen” solo rock tour across the U.S. this Fall. Folds is known as the frontman and piano player for his alternative rock band Ben Folds Five.

Ben Folds Five took off in the mid-nineties, and it seemed like Folds fit perfectly in that band structure. But Folds has no problem rocking the stage alone. He had embarked on his first solo tour in 2001, blowing crowds away with high energy performances as well as relaxed moments with just a single piano (hence the tour name).

The tour will consist of 33 dates across the entirety of the United States, kicking off in Folds’ hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, two days after the anniversary of his last album So There.

“A Piano and a Playpen” will feature songs from both his earlier work with Ben Folds Five all the way up to tracks from So There. Folds also plans to sprinkle his shows with intimate stories, audience interaction, and improvisation with a variety of instruments.
