Primus Drummer Tim Alexander Stricken With Heart Attack

Tim “Herb” Alexander, drummer for Primus, suffered a second heart attack this past Saturday.  The first of which struck in July 2014.

Alexander posted an instagram in which he expressed his disbelief that this could happen after undergoing a triple bypass after the first heart attack.  He also updated fans on his condition letting everyone know that he is “doing well”.  Check out the full instagram below.

Alexander’s career with Primus has been on and off.  He first joined the group in 1988.  Then, he left in 1996 to then re-join in 2003.  He left again in 2009, but returned in 2013.   He’s played on eight of the group’s albums, including their most recent one Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, which was released in 2014.

Besides Primus, he has also worked with Puscifer and A Perfect Circle.
