About a year ago, Canadian illustrator and musician Geneviève Castrée who recorded under the name Woelv and Ô PAON, was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. As Pitchfork reports, the unfortunate news arrived a few months after she gave birth to her daughter with Phil Elverum of the bands The Microphones and Mount Eerie.
In an effort to help with finances, Phil Elverum set up a GoFundMe page asking for donations and also offered information on Geneviève’s condition.
In light of this news, the indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel, has started an auction to raise donations for the family. The auction includes merchandise from Neutral Milk Hotel, as well as merchandise from bands Bikini Kill, Fugazi and Rites of Spring.
The merchandise included in the auction features quite a few noteworthy items, such as a signed Neutral Milk Hotel box set, rare signed vinyls and signed posters, among much more.
Though the situation is not a very good one, it is good to see people coming together in support of each other and their loved ones. For a full list of items that are up for auction and to bid on them in support of Geneviève, please check out the website here.
