Fudge has shared their first single “In My Shoes” off of their upcoming album, Lady Parts, which is set to release later this year 9/9.
Fudge is the collaboration between producer Prefuse 73 and Boston native emcee Michael Christmas aka Mickey Christmas. Michael Christmas has spent his last two years releasing his freshman and sophomore mixtapes, while touring with both Mac Miller and Logic. Prefuse 73 is well known producer known for his eccentric, spacey hip hop instrumentals, and has worked with many legends in hip hop. Amongst those legends Prefuse 73 has worked with include, Ghostface Killah, Mos Def, MF DOOM, Mikah 9, EI-P, and GZA.
Fudge began when both Prefuse 73 and Mickey Christmas got together at Nick Hook’s Green Point studio in the summer and fall of 2015. During that stay, Prefuse 73 brought with him a hard-drive filled with beats and Christmas his vocals. Christmas reportedly created and recorded vocals to all of the instrumentals in the same day, as friends swung by to also attribute to the album. “In My Shoes” features vocals from Alex Mali who has recently gained attention for her debut single “Phenom”. Another drop-in to look forward to on the upcoming album is D.R.A.M. who brings his soulful voice on the albums “All Points South”.
