Earlier this month, Victoria Hesketh, better known as Little Boots, resurfaced with new track “Staring At the Sun” off of her latest EP Afterhours. Now, she is sharing another single, electronic dance track “Face To Face,” created with Australian singer, songwriter, and producer Sam Sparro. The sunny, disco-esque “Staring At The Sun” arrives just in time for summer, check it out below.
In a public statement, Hesketh discussed the latest track.
“Afterhours” is the soundtrack for when the photocopier powers down and the office is locked up and you want to find somewhere to let your hair down and forget about the day. I really wanted to release something as a ‘thank you’ to my fans for all their incredible support over the years.”
Hesketh also discussed the launch of her collaboration with Studio Amplify. Named NOIZ, the application will enable fans and artists to remix their favorite songs, using built-in syncing controls. Little Boots has released “Staring At The Sun” as a remix through NOIZ and is additionally accessible via the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. The application has been a long-term ambition for the musician, who has desired to create a program to give fans creative expression over their favorite music.
“This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I’ve always been very passionate about music and technology and pushing where these two worlds collide. I also really wanted to do something for fans to explore the music. With this, they can literally hold the songs in their own hands and deconstruct them piece by piece, putting them back together however they want. For anyone that’s ever wanted to try their hand at remixing and not known where to start- here’s the most accessible and fun way.”
The EP follows Little Boots’ “Working Girl” album and features the two released tracks.
