In preparation for their first release in 12 years, esteemed Los Angeles punk group The Descendents recently premiered fittingly intense video for the new album’s lead single, “Victim of Me”. Their new LP, Hypercaffium Spazzinate, is set for release later this summer on July 29.

The brisk song, clocking in at under two minutes, features a youthful sounding Milo Aukerman over melodic and pop friendly, yet fairly classical punk instrumentation. The Descendents, despite their decade long break from new music production, sound energized and in full form

The single’s video demonstrates the group’s still weighty stage presence. It features minimally edited black and white footage of a live rendition of “Victim of Me”. Close-up shots of the group members abound, while the audience is rarely pictured. The video’s stripped down nature allows the band’s intensity to shine through, providing a concise look into the essence of their lasting appeal.

Hypercaffium Spazzinate will be released through Epitaph and marks The Descendents seventh studio LP. Watch the video for “Victim of Me’” below.
