BAIO @ Bardot 8/5

BAIO is coming to Bardot in Wynwood on Friday, August 5th. Otherwise known as Chris Baio, he was originally best known as the bassist for the band Vampire Weekend. Last year however, he released a solo album as the producer BAIO.

Chris Baio is from Bronxville, New York where he grew up and joined 2 other bands before meeting the other members of Vampire Weekend at Columbia University and formed that band which proved to be very successful. Vampire Weekend was noted for their indie rock style that incorporated many styles of music from around the world. In comparison BAIO’s solo style seems to be a bit more funky, a bit more 80’s inspired. He released his debut album “The Names” last year and it was well received. You can hear his experience as a bassist shine through on the the album with the groovy baselines. Listen to the songs “Endless Rhythm” and “Sister of Pearl” below.

He is going to perform at Bardot in Wynwood which is a very chill and laidback bar environment that should fit BAIO’s style perfectly. If your looking to have a nice night out in Wynwood eating good food, seeing good art, and listening to fun and relaxing music, then the show in August should be for you.

My two favorite music genres are definitely hip hop and electronic/dance, but I'm really open to anything that piques my interest. I'm currently in New York for school.
