Merchandise @ Gramps 9/22

Merchandise is coming to Gramps on Thursday, September 22nd. Their music is part punk, part psychedelic, part experimental, and overall really good to listen too. If you’re looking to go to a show from a more lowkey artist, the band is even from Florida, then this is a show for you.

Merchandise had been making music since 2008 when the band was formed as a trio. They come from Tampa, Florida. They have been noted for their ability to keep changing their style and try new things. They have added members and released a number of albums and EPs on different labels. They really started to gain steam with their 2012 release “Children of Desire”. Their latest album “After The End” was released in 2014 but they have released a couple singles since then including “Red Sun” and “Flower of Sex”. Their music is hard to classify because they have tried many different sounds, but the singing is great and the guitars are psychedelic. Take a listen with these videos.

Gramps is the perfect venue for a band like Merchandise because it is very lowkey just like the band. The venue is laidback and and has an open area with chairs and sand. This show should be a great night out in Wynwood as it’s also a great place to get food and check out the variety of other art in the area. Get ready for Merchandise in September.

My two favorite music genres are definitely hip hop and electronic/dance, but I'm really open to anything that piques my interest. I'm currently in New York for school. Electronic album reviewer for MXDWN. Although I write about music for the website, my media interests stretch into many areas including movies and video games.
