For over twenty years, it has been nearly impossible to obtain a vinyl copy of the Melvins’ albums Houdini, Stoner Witch, and Stag. Purchasing an original copy could set one back hundreds of dollars. Have no fear though, the three albums are scheduled for reissue very soon. Third Man Records will reintroduce all three on June 24 of this year. For those eager to get their hands on the Aberdeen natives’ vinyls, Third Man Records is now taking pre-orders.
The band formed in 1983, but it wasn’t until they signed to Atlantic Records in 1993 that they began to gain fame and recognition. Houdini was released the same year and debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at number 29.

Some say “save the best for last”, but the Melvins (probably) say “save the most diverse for last”. Their final studio album was their most wide ranging and diverse in their entire career. The original was only on one disc, but the reissue will be a comfortable two discs. Portions of the album were recorded at the legendary Sound City studios.
