Boss Hog Announce New EP Brood Star For July 2016 Release

For the first time in 16 years, New York City based band Boss Hog will release new music.  Their four song EP, Brood Star, is set for release on July 1 by In the Red Records.  Husband and wife duo Jon Spencer (guitar) and Cristina Martinez (vocals) have also shared a single from that EP called “Wichita Grey”.  Listen to it below.

Besides just the EP, the band announced that their fourth full-length album, Brood X, will be coming soon.  They also announced a series of live shows coming up this July following the release of the EP.

The punk blues band has been around for 27 years, releasing music sporadically.  During their career, the band has seen personnel changes and many side projects.  Spencer has been in other groups as well including Pussy Galore and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, both of which co-existed with Boss Hog.  In 2008 the band performed some reunion gigs, but did not release new tracks at the time.  Brood Star will give fans a chance to see what the group has had in the works for some time.
