Coheed And Cambria Announce Fall 2016 Tour Dates

Coheed and Cambria has never been an easy band to classify. While they are most commonly described as progressive rock, their versatile library incorporates elements of pop-punk, post-hardcore, progressive metal, and heavy metal. Whatever genre you define them as, there’s no doubt that Coheed and Cambria has a large and dedicated fan base that is always eager to see what new sounds the band has to offer. Just as the band was influenced by classic bands such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Coheed and Cambria has inspired a new generation of prog rock bands. Among them are progressive instrumental act Polyphia and emo band Saves the Day, both of whom C&C will be touring with in the coming months. Recently, Coheed and Cambria has released the video to their new song “Island“. The song itself is influenced by Batman and Superman, and the values that the iconic heroes represent in American culture.

In anticipation of the upcoming tour, Saves the Day will be performing at a series of shows and festivals in the next few months. Alongside Dashboard Confessional and Taking Back Sunday, Saves the Day will be performing at the Taste of Chaos in New Jersey on June 17th. Additionally, the band will be making a special appearance at FYF Fest in Los Angeles on August 18th to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their album Stay What You Are. Saves the Day is famous for taking the intricate and breakneck guitars of hardcore punk and infusing them with melodic pop-punk vocals. Their most recent album, which was self-titled and released in 2014, was recorded in the woods of Michigan. This would be their eighth full-length album, and the one that reunited them with label Equal Vision Records. Equal Vision Records is also associated with Coheed and Cambria and Polyphia.

Polyphia is an acclaimed instrumental progressive metal act formed in 2010. The band first attracted attention when its video for the song “Impassion” off of the Inspire EP went viral on YouTube. One of the members of the djent movement, the band’s sound utilizes highly technical lead guitar riffs and elements of progressive rock, progressive metal, and electronica. The trio will join labelmates C&C and Saves the Day on their upcoming tour.
