WATCH: Thom Yorke Plays A Set At Neighbor’s Garden Party

Tom Yorke has always been full of surprises.

The Radiohead frontman’s latest involves an intimate soiree appearance. The story broke on Reddit when a user received a text from his father that Oxford dweller “Tom York” was jamming out at his neighbor’s garden party. It seems the singer has decided to take a breather from his sold-out summer tour to make an appearance at the get together for an impromptu acoustic set.

Yorke’s setlist that included a slew of our favorite Radiohead tracks including “Desert Island Disk” and “No Surprises”, among others. Consequence of Sound has reported that the artist played for 30 minutes. Below, listen to York play “Reckoner” from 2007’s In Rainbows. Check out a clip from the performance below.

Yorke’s has made a number of spontaneous performances and decisions over the years, including many surprise DJ sets. His enigmatic streak continued into 2016 when Radiohead deleted the entirety of the website and social media presence and replaced it with blank images, just before releasing A Moon Shaped Pool along with the albums long-awaited singles – “Burn the Witch” which dates back to 2000, and “True Love Waits” which dates to 1995.

Many fans were intrigued by Yorke’s enigma and found his band’s new music worth waiting for. The new album was released in June to critical acclaim for its lyrical content, guitarist Johnny Greenwood’s arrangements, along with the album’s timbres and melodies.

Radiohead has kicked off their summer tour in May with Dreamer, and will make stops in Europe, North America, and Japan.
