Wu Tang Clan Producer/MC RZA and Interpol Guitarist Paul Banks, who have recently come together for a collaboration project Banks & Steelz have announced their upcoming debut album will be titled, Anything But Words. The duo has also released the track-listing (see below), and who will have special guest appearances. The album will feature appearances by Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, Kool Keith, and fellow Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Masta Killa.
The duo has also announced their new track “Giant” will be available tomorrow, Friday June 10th via digital retailers. “Giant”, produced by John Hill and Kid Harpoon of Florence + The Machine is the second track following the album’s first single released last month “Love & War”, featuring Ghostface Killah. The Arms Race production house directed video, which seems to be inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”, can be seen here.
RZA and Banks first linked up with each other in 2013. At that time, RZA told Rolling Stone magazine that his manager sparked the idea to collaborate with Paul Bank’ s of Interpol when he asked him who he would like to collaborate with. RZA on Bank’s, “When I met Paul, I recognized the New York energy he has as a music artist”. RZA also details how they came together to create, “We got to know each other playing chess and vibing out in the studio. Our talents connected in a unique way and we started writing songs. The outcome was something distinctively different from my previous work, yet with another layer of cool.” The outcome of that session has already shown to be a unique mix between both artist’s strengths.
Banks & Steelz have already announced performances at FYF Fest, Life is Beautiful Music & Arts Festival, and Austin City Limits Music Festival. In addition, the duo has also revealed that they will be expanding their tour to more venues (see below).
