Local Natives have announced the release of their next album, Sunlit Youth for September 9th. This will be the bands third studio album.
The band also posted the video to their song “Villainy,” as well as announcing a world tour.
“Villainy” follows the release of “Past Lives,” which was released on April 29, and was the first single the band released since 2013. “Villainy” was released on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio yesterday.
Guitarist Ryan Harn said of Sunlit Youth: “A lot of the excitement in making this new album came from discovering how to make songs in different ways. You start thinking What do I want to hear?’ Forget about what we’ve done and what people expect. ‘Villainy’ is a song that I would want to hear,” posted on NME.
Local Natives are calling Sunlit Youth the final piece in a trilogy, with their 2010 debut album Gorilla Manor and 2013’s Hummingbird as the first two parts.
