Severe Weather Forces Final Day Of Governors Ball To Be Canceled

The final day of the 2016 Governors Ball Festival has been canceled, due to what has been described as “severe weather, and a high likelihood of lightning in the area.”

It was slated to be the third day of the festival, which would have featured a lineup that included Kanye West in his first North American performance in support of his latest LP The Life Of Pablo, and new supergroup Prophets Of Rage, who just recently performed their first live show in Los Angeles to much anticipation. Needless to say, some fairly high-profile performances would have taken place. Other artists scheduled for the canceled lineup include Courtney Barnett and Vince Staples.

The festival is offering ticket holders full and partial refund options, which can be seen on the website.

While the cancellation is unfortunate for the festival-goers, erring on the side of caution is always the best decision in a situation involving this type of inclement weather. A similar occurrence was seen in 2013, when the festival as a whole was canceled for the same reason.
