Los Angeles proto-metal band Death Valley Girls, have just released a new track entitled “I’m A Man Too.” The song is an awesome feminist anthem. It’s punchy and loud, and exceptionally cool.
The song comes off the band’s forthcoming record, Glow In the Dark which will be released soon on June 10th via Burger Records. Pre-orders for the album have already started and can be purchased here. “I’m A Man Too” is the second single to be released from the album, with a title-track, “Glow in the Dark” already released.
“I’m A Man Too” is boisterous and incredibly enjoyable. Their sound is reminiscent of such bands as Sleater-Kinney for their bold vocals, and FIDLAR for their summery and California-esque guitar chord progressions. Not only that, but their sound also holds hints of some blues rock and 60s metal rock.
It’s definitely a song you’ll want to listen to on repeat, so go ahead and do just that. Take a listen to the track below.
Death Valley Girls are a self-defined ragtag gang born out of experimentation and liberation. They were formed in Los Angeles, CA and have started to gain notoriety in the local Los Angeles music scene. They are a part of Burger Records, which also is host to other great musicians such as Colleen Green and Jenny Lewis.
